finally got out of the batter's box yesterday with a nice longshot winner in the anita finale. here we go today.

r3: men only. group of two year old maidens go a route and while i expect wise diplomat to run better today at underlaid odds, i'm going to back men only who got an educational run first out for baby mandella. flores hops aboard and this one, out of a woodman mare, wants to run a distance of ground anyway. the fact that he showed speed sprinting bodes well for his ability to get position from the 8 hole.

r4: #1Entry. i like the everest stables entry in here as regal boot is bred to win early and shush has been working well for polanco in the mornings. i think kerwin john had a choice and opted for shush, so perhaps that one rates a slight advantage. as for the rest, this isn't the strongest group of open maidens and if the entry is 12/1, then that's more than enough value for me.

r8: seeking the heart. very evenly matched group of fillies go a mile here. arbun scare me the most, but i'm going to play the regally bred seeking the heart, who is out of turf monstress corazona, who beat me out of a $100k pick-6 at hollywood park when she nostralized hollywood wildcat. 'heart has run sort of evenly for mike smith, and now gets a major upgrade for turf in corey nakatani. mows 'em all down late?
